Invite the Ocean in.

Nature Framed was created from a deep love for the sea and a desire to bring its power, colour, and emotion into the spaces where we live and work.

Based in Cape Town—where two great oceans, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet—our photographers are passionate about capturing the raw beauty of the coastline in all its moods: pounding waves, quiet glassy moments, luminous aquas, sea spray suspended in sunlight, and the unfiltered spectrum of blues that define the Cape.

Our work is driven by a simple belief:  nature has the power to transform interior spaces and the people within them. In a world filled with noise, movement, and urgency, the ocean remains a place of clarity, energy and grounding. Through our photography, we frame those moments—moments of force, tranquillity, and everything in between—and make them accessible as permanent installations for homes, offices, hotels, and design-led environments.

About Greg Shaw:
Our Principle Photographer

Greg brings more than 25 years of world-class visual storytelling to Nature Framed. As a professional lighting cameraman, he worked with leading international news and documentary broadcasters—ITN, CBS News, NBC, and Sky News—documenting South Africa’s historic and often turbulent transition to democracy. His lens captured defining moments: the final years of unrest under the National Party, the release of Nelson Mandela, and the iconic footage of Mandela casting his first democratic vote.

Greg’s career spans major documentaries, historical features, and high-profile trials including the Oscar Pistorius and Dewani trials. His work for ITN, NBC, and CBS placed him at the heart of some of the most pivotal global stories.

Beyond news, he has extensive experience in drama, wildlife, and environmental documentaries. He filmed for 60 Minutes and covered major events such as the sinking of the Oceanos for NBC Canada. His wildlife portfolio includes documentaries on Great White Sharks for Discovery, oil-spill disasters threatening African penguins, Cape Fur Seal harvesting for Greenpeace, Harp Seal hunts in Nova Scotia, anti-poaching operations in Zambia and a wildlife rescue series in Namibia for Animal Planet. Greg has documented elephant-human conflict, the devastation of AIDS in Uganda, and expeditions through the jungles of Cameroon.

Balancing intensity with lighter assignments, he has also shot for The Daily Show during the 2010 World Cup and covered the Volvo Ocean Race for Welsh TV.

Today, Greg has turned his focus fully toward his passion for stills photography—especially the ocean. Decades behind the camera have sharpened a rare ability to read light, movement, weather, and tides, bringing a seasoned cinematic eye to Nature Framed. His images carry the depth, drama, and emotional truth shaped by a lifetime of capturing the world at its most powerful.
